The city of Newport is home to 11 oceanfront mansions built in the 19th century. Visitors can see them from the 3.5 mile Cliff Walk, a footpath that meanders along the eastern edge of the peninsula. The walk features spectacular ocean views.
Visitors can also enjoy the crooked colonial streets, some historic churches and a spectacular yacht harbor in Newport.
