Guide to Cruise Ports and Terminals
The city of Salerno is situated southeast of Naples at the eastern end of the beautiful Amalfi Coast.
The Salerno Cruise Terminal is located west of downtown Salerno.
The city of Salerno provides a free shuttle service from the cruise ship to the port gate. Due to the size and nature of the Port of Salerno, it is inconvenient to walk to the city from a cruise ship.
Most cruise lines provide a shuttle service to the Piazza della Concordia, which is about 4 km away.
There is a metro system in Salerno that runs through the city centre, parallel to the coast.

A 24 hour bus pass can be purchased for 6,80 euro. It connect Salerno, Amalfi, Positano and Sorrento. Please note that the buses often fill-up, so make sure that you allocated enough time to return to your cruise ship.

Ferry Service operates from Salerno along the spectacular Amalfi Coast. The cost of the ferry depends on the how far you travel. A return trip from Salerno to the town of Amalfi costs 8 euro.
Salerno is a large city and transportation centre. It is home to a beautiful seaside promenade called the Lungomare Trieste. Cruise passengers can enjoy a walk along the promenade from the main port.

Amalfi is a small, coastal community located 24 kilometers west of Salerno Italy. It is situated at the center of the spectacular Amalfi coast and is home to many great restaurants, shops, a cathedral and an attractive beach.
Travel time to Amalfi from Salerno is approximately 35 minutes.

Positano is a picturesque Italian community situated on the breathtaking Amalfi coast approximately 37 KM from Salerno.
Because of the windy road, travel time between Salerno and Positano is approximately 50 minutes.

Sorrento is a popular tourist destination located at the western end of the Amalfi coast. Bus service operates from Sorrento Central Train Station to Sorrento.
Please note, however, that the 58 km road from Salerno twists and turns along the coast making travel slow.

The "Lost City of Pompeii" was covered with volcanic ash from a massive eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. The site was excavated in the 19th century and provides a rare glimpse into life in the Roman Empire.
Pompeii is located 15 miles (30 KM) northwest of Salerno Italy. Travel time by vehicle is approximately 30 minutes.
