Guide to Cruise Ports and Terminals
Cruise ships arriving in Wellington New Zealand dock at the Overseas Passenger Terminal. It has three main piers:
The main cruise port is located on Wellington Harbour near Westpac Stadium. Passengers are not permitted to walk through to the port.
A free shuttle bus service, operated by the port authority, shuttles cruise passengers between the port and downtown Wellington. There are two drop-off, pick-up locations in town. One is located at the the i-Site Visitor Centre and the other is situated near Parliament.
Bus service is available from the Wellington Railway Station to various locations on the North Island.
Ferry service operates between Wellington on the North Island and Picton NZ on the South Island. The crossing takes approximately 3.5 hours.
Top attractions in Wellington include Government House, two cathedrals, the Town Hall and Botanic Garden.
