Akaroa is a small town (population 700) located on New Zealand's South Island.  It is a popular cruise port in New Zealand.

The attractive community is located 81 km southeast of Christchurch.  Travel time from Akaroa to Christchurch is approximately 1 hour 20 minutes.

Cruise ships anchor in Akaroa Harbour.  Passengers are then transported by tender boat to the wharf in Akaroa.
