Aruba Cruise Port

The cruise ship port on the island of Aruba is located in Oranjestad.  It is an easy five minute walk from the port to the town's shops and restaurants.

Public Transportation

Port Shuttle

Passengers will not require transportation to Oranjestad, due to its proximity to the cruise terminal.

Bus Service

There is a public bus that runs hourly from Orangestad to Malmok or Arashi.  It stops at all the main hotels along the beach. The central bus station is located right outside the cruise port gate.

Taxi Service

Taxis are available right at the dock and fares are posted on signs at the terminals.  Because meters aren't used, it is important to agree on the fare before you jump into a cab.   A trip from the dock to Palm Beach takes approximately 10 minutes

Oranjestad Aruba

The town of Oranjestad is located on the picturesque south coast of Aruba in the Dutch Antilles.  It is the island's capital city and is famous for its multicolored houses and carved wooden doors.  Cruise passengers will enjoy the unique blend of Dutch and Caribbean cultures.

Make sure to visit the schooner harbor in Orangestad and the colorful outdoor markets.  Aruba is also a popular shopping destination for items such as Swiss watches and French perfumes.

Island of Aruba

Aruba is known for its amazing marine life. It is a popular destination of snorkeling and scuba diving due to its coral reefs and offshore shipwrecks.

The island is also popular for its duty-free shops and 11 casinos.

Palm Beach, located 15 minutes away by bus or taxi offers water sports facilities including scuba and parasailing.  Many of the hotel resorts are located along the beach.

Aruba Currency

The currency used on the Island of Aruba is the Aruba Florin (AFI).  US Dollars, traveller's checks and credit cards, however, are widely accepted.
