Port Everglades Cruise Port

The cruise port in Fort Lauderdale is the departure point for many Caribbean, Panama Canal and Transatlantic cruises.  It is located at Port Everglades and is the second busiest cruise port in the world.

Nine cruise lines offer cruises from this port.  Approximately 43 cruise ships sail from Port Everglades.

Port Everglades is also the main seaport in South Florida.

Public Transportation

Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL)

The Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) is located immediately east of Port Everglades.  Flights are available to FLL Airport from some 100 cities in the United States and Canada.  Direct flights are also available from other countries.

Taxi fare from FLL Airport is normally less than $15 to Fort Lauderdale Beach and Port Everglades.  Shared Rides are $9 per person.  Kiosks for taxis and Share Rides are located outside each terminal.

Miami International Airport

The Miami International Airport is located east of downtown Miami and approximately 29 miles south of Port Everglades.

Taxi fare from from Miami to Fort Lauderdale is approximately $75.

West Palm Beach Airport

West Palm Beach Airport is located north of Port Everglades in the coastal town of Palm Beach.

Taxi fare from West Palm Beach Airport to Port Everglades is approximately $120.

Port Shuttle

Taxis, vans and shuttle busses are available from Fort Lauderdale to Port Everglades.

Taxi fares in Fort Lauderdale are $4.50 for the first mile, $2.40 for each additional mile and $.40 for each minute of waiting time.

Bus Service

Fort Lauderdale has an integrated bus system but no metro.
